Hello, I'm Jason. We all need a holiday every now and then! The most common problem with them however is the cost involved. I'm going to try and help you around this as much as possible.
That's why I've created this special page, I recently came back from Spain and I spent an absolute fortune. You never think you're going to spend as much as you do, so it's best to be well prepared. I hope you find my tips helpful.
So, you want to go to Spain, but it can be quite
expensive depending on where (and when) you’re
looking. I’m going to give you some tips as how you
can save hundreds on going! First of all, there is
the most obvious point. Don’t book your holiday to
Spain during peak times. This includes over
Christmas and New Year and school holidays. It’s a
simple point of the demand is much greater during
these times so the holiday companies hike their
price up, because they can
You
can book a holiday during May and it’s a great time
to go, not only is it cheaper, but there are a lot
festivals on during the period. It’s great
entertainment for young and old alike. All
throughout Madrid it is Labour Day where they have
such things going on as Bull Fights, lots of parades
and festival dances everywhere you look.
Another time you could think of going is toward the
end of October. The temperatures won’t be great and
the sun might not be out as much as during the
summer months. However, the temperatures will still
be higher than in the UK and if you’re not looking
to go to Spain for a beach holiday this can be the
ideal time to go! Interested in culture and art
galleries? There will be much fewer tourists with
drastically reduced queues at many of Barcelona’s
galleries. With a little research you can find some
fantastic landmarks you can visit as well. Probably
best to remember to bring your camera with you.
So what can you expect when you’re there during these cheaper months? Well for starters, the food. Don’t get too excited about this prospect though, the food is great in Spain, but you won’t be paying less than the U.K for example on your holiday. So you might want to look for half board hotel so you get some of your meals for free. Trust me, after 2 weeks there you’ll wish you had, I know I did when I went!
Then we move onto the drinks, of course I’m talking
about the alcoholic variety here! During the
off-peak times drinks drop down in price to try to
encourage you to buy more of them as they don’t have
the volume of people during the summer months. May
as well make the most of it, I’m sure most of you
will agree.
So what you might be thinking, do you do if you’re
actually looking to go to Spain in the summer
months. Well, it’s going to be harder to find a
cheap deal like off-peak season. But there are a few
tips I can still give you. Use price comparison
websites, but be careful. When you find a “deal”, go
directly to the website, don’t click on the whole
“check it out here” because the price comparison
website could be adding a few extra £$’s on so they
make some money! Also make sure to book in advance,
preferably 6 months, but for the best deal, try and
make it a year in advance. You’ll be surprised at
how much this can save you!
I hope my tips have helped you and I hope you find a
great deal and have a fantastic holiday.
